Sophomore
to Start For Dinos
by Ryan Falk
August 15, 2006
Carbon High Football is kicking off the season with their first
game against American Leadership Academy this Friday in Price
at 7:00 p.m.
Coach JP Salisbury has named his starting quarterback for the
game and it is not the likely candidate. Sophomore Joey Keller
will get the start in the endowment game with American Leadership.
Junior Brandon Branch was the other candidate vying for the starting
job, but Keller won the spot due to injuries and the need for
Branch at other positions.
Starting Strong Safety JJ Blue cracked a rib in Saturday night's
Blue and White game and played the second half with a partially
collapsed lung. Blue will be out 2-4 weeks and Branch will replace
Blue at Safety and will also start at running back for the Dinos.
This will be American Leadership Academy's first football game
since establishment in 2005. They are located in Spanish Fork,
Utah and will compete at the 2-A level
