Dino's -vs- Lehi

The lady Dino's Volleyball team will be back in action tonight as they travel north to face Lehi.
The Dino's are coming off a tough, five-set loss to Grantsville. Sophomores start at 4:00 with JV set to begin right after at approximately 5:15, and varsity at 6:00.


 

Chukar Hunt

The Division of Wildlife of Resources will release 4-thousand Chukar Partridge throughout the state in preparation of the for the opening of the Chukar hunt this Saturday, September 16th.
Chukars will be released in five areas of Carbon and Emery Counties which include Miller's Canyon southeast of the town of Emery; southeast of Moore off the Moore Highway; above Millsite reservoir near Ferron; Pinnacle Canyon west of Price; and the Farnum area, southeast of Wellington.

The hunt runs through January 31st with a bag limit of 5 birds and a possession limit of 10 birds.

The Emery High Saprtans pick up their first win this season in dominating style. They won Monticello at home 42 to 6.

The Spartans will be back at home this Friday as they host Carbon.


 

Dino's -vs- Canyon View

The Dino's on the other hand lost another one Friday as they were pounded by Canyon View ... 53 to 12. The Dino's will look for their first win this season as they travel to Emery to face their rivals. Kickoff is set for 7:00 pm


 

Girl's Soccer Team

The Carbon High girl's soccer team lost yesterday 4-0 to Grand High in Moab. The girls are off to an 0-3 start.


Maggie Keogh had the hat trick for Grand as she scored three goals.
The Lady Dino's will be back in action next Thursday when they travel north to play Juan Diego.


 

Dino's Volleyball

The Dino's Volleyball team didn't fair to well last night either. They hosted Grantsville and lost in five sets.


The Dino's were off to a good start taking the first set, but found themselves in a quick hole as they lost the second and third sets. They rallied to win set four but were finished off as Granstville took set five.


The Dino's will be hosting a sophomore and JV tournament today and tomorrow.
Varsity will be back in action Tuesday the 12th as they travel to face Lehi.

Both Emery and Carbon football teams are in action tonight. Kickoff for both games is set for 7:00p.m.


The Spartans and Dino's are off to an 0-3 start and are looking for their first wins of the season.
The Spartans will be at home for their first time this season as they host Monticello.


The Dino's will be on the road for the second straight week as they travel to Cedar City to play Canyon View.

Local Volleyball and Football Update

The Carbon High Volleyball team is back in action tonight in Price as they host Grantsville.
The Dino's are looking to add to their four game winning streak.
Sophomores start at 4:00 with the JV games scheduled to begin at approximately at 5:15 and the Varsity at 6:30.


The Emery High Spartans Football team will be at home Friday night for the first time this season. They will host Monticello.
The Spartans are looking for their first victory of the season.
Kickoff is set for 7:00 p.m. You can hear the game live on KOAL 750.

The Carbon High Football team will also be in action Friday night as they will be on the road as they travel to Cedar City to play Canyon View.
The Dino's are also off to a 0-3 start and will be looking for their first win of the season.

The Carbon Dino's Volleyball team looked strong in their defeat of Canyon View last night. The Dino's increased their winning streak to 4 games .
They will be at home again this Thursday when they face Grantsville.


 

Carbon and Emery High

Both Carbon and Emery High's football teams will be back in action Friday night. Carbon will hit the road for their first time this season when they travel to Roosevelt to play Union.

The Dinos are 0-2 to start the season and are looking for their first win while Union is off to a 1-1 start.

The Emery High Spartans will travel for their third straight week when they head up north to Ogden to play Ben Lomand.

The Spartans are also 0-2 and Ben Lomand shares Union's 1-1 record.

Both teams are scheduled to kick off at 7:00 p.m. You can hear the Emery High-Ben Lomand game live on KOAL 750.


 

Victorious Lady Dino's

The Carbon High Lady Volleyball team was victorious Tuesday night beating Uintah 3 out of 4 sets. The Dinos won the first set 25-12, lost the second set 22-25. The Dinos then won the third and final set 25-20, and 26-4.

They next play Park City at home tomorrow the 31st. Sophomores begin at 4:00 with JV scheduled to start at 5:15. Varsity will hit the court at 6:30 p.m.


 

Emery -vs- Canyon View

The Emery High Spartans also lost their game this week to Canyon View in Cedar City 21-6. The Spartans move to 0-2 losing their first two games as well.

The Spartans are on the road this week for the third straight week. They will face Ben Lomand Friday at 7:00 p.m.

Carbon -vs- Uintah

The Carbon High football team lost this week against Uintah at home 25-0. The Dinos are now 0-2 to start the season.


The game was a tale of big plays. Uintah made theirs scoring three touchdowns in the first half all on big plays.

Carbon on the other hand, failed to convert theirs. Dropped passes and big penalties hampered any comeback from the Dinos.

Coach JP Salisbury says it's time to grow up and rely on technique.

The Carbon High Football team resumes their season tonight as they host Uintah. Kick off is at 7:00p.m.

The Dinos started the season last week with a loss to American Leadership Academy 19-18.

The Uintah Utes are also 0-1 to start the season. They lost their season opener to Juan Diego 27-7

Emery Loses to 1A School in Opener

The Emery High Spartans were defeated in their first game of the season by Duchesne 25-6.


This was Spartan's coach Jimmy Jones first game back after taking a few years off after 18 years of coaching.


Emery will be back on the road this week traveling south to play Canyon View High in Cedar City. Kick off is set for 7:00.


 

Carbon Season Opener

Carbon High Football opened their season with a loss on Friday night to American Leadership Academy 19-18 in Price.


This was the Academy's first football game in their inaugural football season.


The Dino's were lead by Andrew Jackson with three touchdown runs.
But it was the special teams that sealed their fate. Both Extra Points were missed after the first two touchdowns, so down by one, head coach JP Salisbury decided to go for two instead of kicking the extra point.


The Dino's were unsuccessful in the attempt and lost the game by one point.


The Dino's will be at home again this Friday to take of Uintah at 7:00 p.m.


 

Tournament of Champions

The Carbon High Volleyball team hits the court this week for their season opener. The Lady Dinos will travel to the Salt Lake Valley to compete in the Tournament of Champions held at Skyline High.


Head Coach Bruce Bean says only the top teams around the state are invited to the tournament.

The Lady Dinos are a young team with only one senior with varsity experience. But Coach Bean is optimistic about his team's chances this year.


They Lady Dino's first home game will next Tuesday against Union High at 6:30 p.m.


 

Emery Football Welcomes Back Former Coach

The Emery High Spartans Football team will open play this Friday the 18th on the road against Duchesne.


Former head coach Jimmy Jones is back after a few years off to hopefully lead the Spartans back to 3A prominence. He says that won't be easy especially when he has such a young team.

The Spartans will be on the road for their first three games this year before heading home to play Monticello on September 8th.


 

Sophomore to Start For Dinos

Carbon High Football is kicking off the season with their first game against American Leadership Academy this Friday in Price at 7:00 p.m.


Coach JP Salisbury has named his starting quarterback for the game and it is not the likely candidate. Sophomore Joey Keller will get the start in the endowment game with American Leadership.


Junior Brandon Branch was the other candidate vying for the starting job, but Keller won the spot due to injuries and the need for Branch at other positions.


Starting Strong Safety JJ Blue cracked a rib in Saturday night's Blue and White game and played the second half with a partially collapsed lung. Blue will be out 2-4 weeks and Branch will replace Blue at Safety and will also start at running back for the Dinos.


This will be American Leadership Academy's first football game since establishment in 2005. They are located in Spanish Fork, Utah and will compete at the 2-A level


 

Carbon Blue and White Defeated

Two local Little League baseball teams fared well in the state tournament in Logan over the weekend. The Carbon Blue team finished with a 4-1 record while the Carbon White finished the season 2-3.


Both Carbon Blue and White opened the tournament last week with a loss all but eliminating their chances to win the tournament. That didn't deter the Blue team as they piled up 4 straight wins in dominating fashion.


Carbon White had tough match-ups throughout the tournament but still were able to tally a couple victories.
Congratulations on a great season boys!


 

Carbon Football and Volleyball First Practice

The Carbon High Football team held their first official practice in full pads yesterday. They will practice three times a day for the rest of this week before their annual Blue and White game this Sat. at 7:00 p.m.


The Volleyball team also held tryouts yesterday morning in the gym. The lady dinos will officially start their season at Skyline High in Salt Lake in the Tournament of Champions August 18-19th.

Football Schedules Released

Both Carbon and Emery's football schedules have been released. Carbon will kick off their season at home the 18th of this month against American Leadership Academy. The Emery Spartans will travel to Duchesne the 18th as well. This years Carbon-Emery game will be in Castle Dale on September the 15th.
